Tips on Keeping a Computer Clean

Compressed Air
The most commonly used tool for keeping a PC clean is compressed air. If used regularly, it will help keep fans and air passages free of hair and dust that can cause your PC to overheat and fail. Shake well and point the nozzel at an angle toward the area you are cleaning. Make sure the debris blows out and away from the PC.

Cotton Swabs
Cotton swabs are great for cleaning hard to reach areas of a a keyboard,monitor or case. If possible, look for the long-handled swabs and only uses alcohol free liquids to clean sensitive areas of your computer. You can often find these cleaners at a computer or electronics store.

Computer Vacuum
While you may be tempted to use a vacuum inside of your computer, it is not recommended. You can use tiny portable vacuums around and near the computer to get rid of heavy dust, hair and other debris that are slowly making their way toward the intakes of your computer case. You can also a vacuum to cleanup after blowing the computer out with compressed air.

You can buy cleaning packs at your local PC shop that also include LCD monitor wipes and soft cloth for cleaning mice, keyboards and other hard surfaces of your computer.

Printer Repair and Troubleshooting Tips

If you're getting a Ink cartridge error
If this is a new cartridge, open the front cover and remove all cartridges. Be sure the protective film has been removed from the cartridge prior to installation. Inspect the contacts on the new cartridge for damage. Replace the cartridges in the correct place, close the front cover and power the printer down and then up again.

Printer Cannot Be Installed
If you're trying to install a printer and it will not install, be sure to check the Device Manager in the Control Panel for any Unknown Devices. Your printer will be come an Unknown Device if you plug the cable in before installing the driver software. Remove the Unknown Device and then unplug the USB cable. Next, install the software that came with the printer, and when finished, plug the USB cable back in.

Printer Streaks
If your printer is producing a streaked image, you will need to clean the printer heads. To do this, go to Printers in the Control Panel, then right click your Printer then select Properties. A menu with the various settings will appear. You need to select Clean Printer Cartridges. The printer will run in cleaning mode.

Printer Does Not Print Jobs
When you click Print and nothing happens, you may be sending jobs to a printer that is not connected to your computer. For example, if another printer was previously installed, and you install a new printer, the old printer might still be setup as the Default Printer. Go into the Control Panel, then Printers and make sure the new printer is set to Default.

Printer Jams Frequently
If your printer jams frequently, you may be loading too much paper. This can also occur if you've had jams in the past and have a piece of debris still stuck in the printer. Use a flashlight to examine the entire mechanism to ensure no paper is still inside. This can also happen if an internal gear is damaged. You will often notice one side being fed faster than the other. This could me the printer is physically damaged and needs to be replaced or repaired.

Pen tab

Use the Pen tab to organize different pen styles.

Toon Boom Studio can create variable width strokes based on the amount of pressure you apply when drawing with a graphic tablet and pen.

Exposure Sheet

Use the Exposure Sheet to organize the content of your scenes and set up their timing.

After you build your content, you will use the Sceneplanning views to animate your content. You can always retouch drawings in the Camera View that require fixes as a result of sceneplanning transformations.

With Sceneplanning views, you can:

• Lay out your elements in 3D space. Drawings and images are automatically scaled based on their relative position to the camera.
• Build motion, rotation and scaling effects through the 3D space.
• Build effects like color transformations and clipping masks.

Sceneplanning views and their tools will assist you as you animate your content.

Camera View

From the Camera View window, you can see how your scene looks from the view of the camera. You can position elements in this window and design motion, rotation and scaling changes using pegs.

Top View

The Top View displays elements from the top looking down. From this view, you can judge the relative front-back and west-east position of elements.

Side View

From the Side View, you can see how the elements in your scene appear from the side looking across. From this view, you can judge the relative front-back and north-south position of elements.
